At RV Path, we believe in privacy by default. This privacy policy explains what data the RV Path mobile application ("App") accesses, collects, and how it is used.

1. Data Collection

RV Path does not collect, log, or store personal information for advertising, analytics, or tracking purposes. We do not build user profiles or sell data. The App does access certain device data — specifically your location — solely to provide its core navigation functionality, as described below.

2. Location Data

RV Path accesses your device's precise GPS location to provide its core navigation features. Below is a comprehensive disclosure of how location data is accessed and used:

2a. Foreground Location Access

When the App is open and in use, it accesses your precise location (GPS) to:

• Display your current position on the map
• Calculate RV-safe routes between your location and a destination
• Provide real-time turn-by-turn navigation guidance
• Show nearby campsites and points of interest relative to your position

2b. Background Location Access

When you start a navigation session, RV Path continues to access your precise location even when the App is minimized, the screen is locked, or you switch to another app. This background location access is necessary to:

• Maintain continuous turn-by-turn GPS navigation so you do not miss a turn while driving
• Provide voice-guided directions during active navigation
• Project navigation to Android Auto or Apple CarPlay displays

Background location access is only active during navigation sessions that you explicitly start. It stops automatically when you end navigation or close the App.

2c. How Location Data Is Handled

• Location data is processed in real-time on your device and is not stored, logged, or transmitted to RV Path servers
• Location data is shared with Google Maps and Mapbox SDKs solely for map rendering and route calculation, subject to their respective privacy policies
• Your location history is never tracked, stored, sold, or shared with third parties for advertising or any other purpose
• You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings, though this will disable navigation features

3. Data Usage

The data you input (such as vehicle specifications, trip details, and checklists) is stored locally on your device or synced securely via your personal cloud account (Google/Apple) solely for the purpose of providing the App's functionality.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to outside parties.

5. External Services

The App uses third-party services for essential functions:

• RevenueCat: For processing subscriptions.
• Firebase: For secure authentication and backend services.
• Google Maps / Mapbox: For map display, route calculation, and turn-by-turn navigation. These services receive your location data to render maps and calculate routes.
• Google Gemini: For AI-powered recommendations.

These services may collect technical usage data subject to their own privacy policies.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
