At RV Path, we believe in privacy by default. This privacy policy explains what data the RV Path mobile application ("App") accesses, collects, and how it is used.

1. Data Collection

RV Path stores the information you enter — vehicle specs, trips, favorites, and checklists — locally on your device. We do not build advertising profiles or sell data. The App does not show ads and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. The App accesses your location only to provide navigation, nearby campsites, and address suggestions, as described below.

2. Location Data

RV Path accesses your device's precise GPS location to provide its core navigation and discovery features. Below is a comprehensive disclosure of how location data is accessed and used:

2a. Foreground Location Access

When you take a contextual action (for example searching near you, starting a trip, or beginning navigation), the App may access your precise location (GPS) to:

• Display your current position on the map
• Calculate RV-safe routes between your location and a destination
• Provide real-time turn-by-turn navigation guidance
• Show nearby campsites and points of interest relative to your position
• Suggest addresses near you

The Home screen does not prompt for location on launch. Nearby suggestions use location only if you have already granted access.

2b. Background Location Access

When you start a navigation session, RV Path continues to access your precise location even when the App is minimized, the screen is locked, or you switch to another app. This background location access is necessary to:

• Maintain continuous turn-by-turn GPS navigation so you do not miss a turn while driving
• Provide voice-guided directions during active navigation
• Project navigation to Android Auto or Apple CarPlay displays

Background location is requested only when you start navigation, and only after an in-app disclosure. It stops when you end navigation or close the App.

2c. How Location Data Is Handled

• Location is processed in real time to provide the feature you requested and is not stored as a location history by RV Path
• Location is shared with map and routing providers — Google Maps / Navigation, TomTom (RV-dimension routing), and Radar (address autocomplete) — solely to render maps, calculate routes, or suggest addresses
• Location is not sold or used to build advertising profiles
• You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings, though this will disable navigation and nearby-search features

3. Data Usage

The data you input (such as vehicle specifications, trip details, and checklists) is stored locally on your device in on-device storage. RV Path does not sync that personal data to a Google or Apple cloud account.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal data. Feature-specific data is sent to the providers listed below only to operate that feature.

5. External Services

The App uses third-party services for essential functions:

• Google: Maps, Navigation, Places, Gemini AI, and Custom Search. Location and search queries may be sent to provide those features.
• TomTom: Preferred RV-dimension routing. Origin, destination, and vehicle dimensions may be sent to calculate a route.
• Radar: Address autocomplete. Typed queries and, when already permitted, approximate location may be sent to rank suggestions.
• Firebase: Shared content such as news, campground pins, and the RV database. Not used for user authentication.
• RevenueCat: Subscription purchase and restore.

These services may collect technical usage data subject to their own privacy policies.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
